So….

I do still love you. I know we’ve been out of touch for awhile and I never write or call. I’ve ignored all your texts and I may have let all your house plants die from neglect.

I’m sorry.

That said, hey look! I updated the patterns page! All those patterns I wrote 8 years ago when I was first learning to knit and design and made weird little things for soap and coffee cups. They’re text files with no pictures, they’re rough cuts. Early demos if you will. But they’re here now because people have been blowing up my Ravelry inbox asking where they’re at. I’m going to rewrite them and make them better, but in the mean time they’re there and they’ll do in a pinch. If you know, you absolutely MUST have a coffee cup handle sweater so you don’t burn your fingers right this second.

Which I totally wouldn’t blame you. I needed one right that second too. Which is why I knit like twelve of them in a row to practice button holes. No shame. I’m really good at button holes now.

Happy knitting, ya’ll. More to come. Promise. For reals this time.

Hi all.

So here’s the deal: life got a little sideways on me. I stepped away from the crafting community at large for the better part of this last year and a half. I needed some time to get my life back together and to reintegrate in Alaska. I got a real live grown up job, moved around a few times and have been driving around with a large chunk of my yarn stash in the back of my car because I have no room in my house for it.

I still don’t have much of a DaniDo Crafty HQ anymore. I live in a lovely yellow house near downtown in Anchorage but because of a hectic job working as an advocate for a rape crisis organization coupled with a busy social life and a lovely new manfriend I’m rarely actually home. Which means I haven’t been knitting much, or dyeing much, or spinning much. However I am hoping that in the next few months my living situation will change and that my new place will include space to craft again. In the meantime I’m going to focus on some new designs until I can start spinning and dyeing again.

One of the unfortunate things that happened this year was that Danido.com in its previous incarnation got destroyed and all the content was lost. Which means I’m rebuilding. Which is good. The old website was a mess and not very easy to navigate. I’m going to work on putting back up all my patterns this week and some of the tutorials and videos and such. It’s time to break things down and go back to basics.

New things to come, guys! Thanks for sticking with me.
